Former Enders star Michelle is lined up to play Jade in movie

Updated 12:26pm on 27 Mar 2009

Former EastEnders actress Michelle Ryan is tipped to play Jade Goody in a film about the reality TV star's life.

Reality role? Michelle Ryan (right) could play Jade

Earlier this week it was revealed that trustees of Goody's estate want to turn her second autobiography, Catch A Falling Star, into a movie.

Now Ryan, 24, who went on to star in Bionic Woman in the US, is being considered to play Goody, who died from cancer aged 27 on Sunday. Another actress being suggested for the role is Ugly Betty and Extras star Ashley Jensen, 39.

Tipped: Danny Dyer (left) could play Jack Tweed

A source said today: "Nothing has been decided yet. But already a number of names have been put forward, including Ashley Jensen and Michelle Ryan.

"Both actresses are thought to be able to capture the humour and fun-loving nature of Jade."

The source added that those involved with the project are also keen to have an all-British cast, with Danny Dyer, 31, among the actors lined up to play Goody's husband Jack Tweed. Also being considered for Tweed's role are two more former EastEnders stars, Robert Kazinsky, 25, and Sean Maguire, 32.

Last night, a spokesman for Goody said: "Yes, various names have contacted me about this. But all decisions will be made in due time."

Trustee Danny Hayward said: "Her story lends itself to a biographical film. She has captured the mood of the nation. We want to tap into raising awareness of cervical cancer."

It was also revealed today that Tweed, 21, plans to auction off his late wife's clothes to raise money for the charities

Cancer Research and Marie Curie nurses, who looked after Goody at her Essex home during her last days.

Meanwhile, Goody's mother Jackiey Budden, 51, will have a makeover for the funeral, to be held on 4 April at St John The Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. Just before she died, Goody asked her mum to have a gap in her teeth fixed.

Why on Earth would Michelle Ryan want to have anything to do with rubbish like this?

Dororthy, I agree, it will be utter rubbish. And a book, what more can be said?

Gosh this has got the backs of some people. She didn't deserve these sort of comments from all you glum people.

This is getting ridiculous. She does not deserve or warrant a film about her.

I think Kerry Katona should play Jade and Russell Brand [with a haircut] Jack Tweedy.

Enough already. She's dead now, there is not need to carry on the media circus, try leading with a much more important story.

A few days ago it was reported that MacMillan nurses looked after Jade in her last days...I bet they are peeved that Marie Curie will proceed from the auction!

It is such a shame about what happened to Jade but a movie - really! Do we really need to see her on the big screen when she already lived her life through the small screen. Do we not already know almost all we need to about her. This is all getting very silly.

Surely that will be the dullest film ever made.

OMG I just do not believe my eyes. Why??!! Is Jade the ONLY woman to have died from this? I cannot wait for that womans funeral to be over so then we won't have to read about her and I can actually read about proper news and not trash and before anyone says "well why read about her then?" I didn't! Its the first headline that comes up so you can't help but read it. I'm sooooo tired of Jade.I didn't want to hear about her when she was alive and well, first diagnosed, dying and then after her death. Yes again, its sad. Her kids are growing up without a mum etc etc but come on let's be real about this she's not and never really was newsworthy was she?
