I'd like to be at Jade funeral, says Jacko

Updated 12:12pm on 30 Mar 2009

Michael Jackson may make a surprise appearance at Jade Goody's funeral. The pop star reportedly told her husband Jack Tweed he would like to be at the service.

Hundreds of mourners: Michael Jackson may also want to pay his respects to Jade Goody

Jackson, 50, first heard about the 27-year-old when she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 with his brother Jermaine. While he was in London to promote his residency at The O2 arena this summer, Jacko, right, called Goody in hospital and left a message wishing her well. He has kept in touch with Tweed, since Goody died of cervical cancer on Mother's Day.

A source close to Tweed, 21, said: "Michael has been very moved by Jade's story. He has pledged to offer any support he can and has promised to try to make it to the funeral on Saturday."

Hundreds of mourners are expected at the service at St John The Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. Among the guests will be TV hosts Richard and Judy, Kerry Katona and pop stars Jamelia and Sugababes.

But glamour model Jordan has been banned from attending the funeral. When Goody revealed last September that she was fighting cancer, Jordan, real name Katie Price, said: "I can't believe she is paid for interviews on subjects that people are really traumatised by."

Goody's family accused the model of "unbelievable hypocrisy", as Jordan had spoken publicly about being diagnosed with a cancerous growth on her finger in 2002. Although Goody forgave Jordan for her comments, the reality star's family said she is not welcome on Saturday. A source said: "If she turns up she will not be allowed in."

Meanwhile, it was revealed that mother-of-two Goody could be honoured with a statue or a plaque in Bermondsey, where she grew up.

It's really Z-list attendees then, no doubt for OK to photograph.

Is it true that "Hello" will be renamed "Goodbye" for their Jade funeral issue?

And a statue - give us a break!

I think the whole thing is strange - but god bless her (Jade) for making coin for her children, she can't live and care for them, but she's done her best for them, and regardless of if I liked the person or not, I admire any mother who cares properly for her kids.

She lived a whirlwind of a life, for what it's worth I thought she was pretty and kind hearted.
