A dis-Shevelled McCartney steps out
Updated 13:11pm on 31 Mar 2009Paul McCartney's new love Nancy Shevell looked more like Polythene Pam at a charity bash.

Bubble and eek! Nancy Shevell's bizarre leggings and Paul's undone flies
Her Stella McCartney leggings were made from sequin-studded fine netting - but they looked as if they were made from bubble wrap, the plastic we love to pop. The 48-year-old heiress wore them under a pink minidress and white jacket as she partied with the ex-Beatle and his daughter in New York last night. Ms Shevell is usually dressed rather more conservatively, so her quirky choice of legwear - cost £795 - drew reference to Polythene Pam, the track from The Beatles' Abbey Road album of 1969, which has the lyrics: "You should see her in drag, dressed in a polythene bag." Sir Paul, 66, had wardrobe trouble of his own as he posed for the cameras with his flies undone at the Forces For Nature event.
