Stars support Britain's Got Talent 's Susan Boyle
Updated 10:28am on 17 Apr 2009Britain's Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle said she was overwhelmed to discover Hollywood star Demi Moore was among her growing army of fans.
The 47-year-old unemployed church volunteer wowed judges on the ITV show with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Miserables.
Ms Boyle, of Blackburn in West Lothian, won over a sceptical audience and has become a global phenomenon since her appearance on the show, with millions watching her performance online.
Actress Moore revealed she was moved to tears by the performance after watching it with husband Ashton Kutcher.
Asked what it meant to her to get such support from the celebrity couple, Ms Boyle said: "That's overwhelming. That's something else."
After seeing the Scot's performance online, Kutcher reportedly wrote on Twitter that it "just made my night".
Ghost star Moore replied: "You saw it made me teary!"
Ms Boyle, who told the talent show show she dreams of becoming a singer as successful as Elaine Paige, has now become favourite with the bookies to win the prize - a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.
Show judge Piers Morgan described her rendition as "an incredible performance", while fellow judge Amanda Holden told her it was a "complete privilege" to listen to her singing.
Ms Boyle has also been catapulted into the limelight in America, where her story has been featured on US morning shows and news programmes.
Speaking at her home, Ms Boyle appeared unfazed by all the attention.
"I just take it all in my stride, I'm enjoying it," she said.
But she added: "I haven't had time to think!"
Quizzed about her chances of winning, she replied: "I can only do my best, like everybody else."
The singer added that she was "looking forward to seeing the judges again".
Competition judge Simon Cowell said that despite Ms Boyle's performance it was too soon to describe the show as a "one horse race".
He told GMTV there were still a number of performers yet to appear.
Asked if he would take on the Scot regardless if she won the competition or not, Mr Cowell replied: "It's difficult to say at this stage because I think we've got to treat it as it is, which is a competition.
"There are some acts that you haven't seen yet, it's not quite the one horse race you are going to think this is."
He also scotched rumours that he had ever approached Victoria Beckham or singer Robbie Williams to appear on talent show the X Factor.

I was awed by Ms. Boyle's performance, and she fully deserves to win the competition. Never before have I seen such a clear example of why we should never judge someone by their appearance. I fully support her, and will be rooting for her the whole way. To anyone who hasn't seen the video, they need to watch it! They will be blown away!
p.s. watch for Simon's "happy place"!

This lady is so modest and the word talented does not start to embrace how she can sing. I saw the programme on Saturday and tears flowed and I found a repeat on Sunday and again was sobbing. if only the so called talent who are in our pop charts now had voices like this the world would be a much better place. I just hope she does not fade into oblivion after the contest like everyone else.
