Jody Latham couldn't stand Hell's Kitchen heat

Shameless star Jody Latham melted in the heat of Hell's Kitchen to become the first celebrity to be booted out.

He was sacked after failing to redeem himself in the wake of a blazing row with other trainee chefs.

First out: Jody Latham

Latham apologised for swearing and calling his kitchen colleagues names.

But when chef Marco Pierre White asked other contestants if they had forgiven them, they gave mixed reactions.

Latham - who plays Phillip Gallagher in the Channel 4 show - had continued with his erratic behaviour by jumping over the fence of the living quarters when White said he could "relate to Jody".

The chef had said: "I can't help but see part of myself in him.

"There's one very big difference though - I was highly disciplined by the people I worked for. You may not agree with my decision of last night but remember I came into Hell's Kitchen to do a job, not to be liked, not to make friends.

"I don't like people who label people. I was labelled as a young man as an angry young man.

There's a big difference between anger and hurt and the man to my right is a man who's been hurt in his early life. Even though I've not spoken to him I recognise it within him."

Latham then walked out of the restaurant, threw down his apron and climbed the fence.

After he returned, White accepted his apologies but finally gave him his marching orders.

Friction had started yesterday when he disappeared while the others were preparing food for the night's service.

Latham later infuriated the other celebrities by telling them White had allowed him to decide whether to serve a table of four diners who had not yet eaten.

The disagreement quickly escalated with Anthea Turner warning Latham to "zip it" and comic Ade Edmondson.

At cleaning up time, the row resurfaced as Latham rowed with Grant Bovey, then Turner, before telling the former Blue Peter presenter: "Shut up you silly cow."

Hell's Kitchen is on ITV1 at 9pm tonight.
