Russ and I will rule the world, says Ross

Updated 11:50am on 21 Apr 2009

It seems the Sachsgate scandal has only served to bring Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand closer together. Jonathan says he had such a great time when they appeared on radio together on Sunday - the first time since the scandal - that he wants to do a lot more work with Russ.

New enterprise? Ross at Star Trek premiere

Hmmm. We're not sure what Andrew or his grand-daughter Georgina Baillie would say about that.

Even Jonathan's wife Jane Goldman wasn't happy about the lads' reunion.

She tried to stop him going on air over the phone during Brand's programme for TalkSport, six months after they left lewd messages on Andrew Sachs's answering machine and Russell quit Radio 2.

Ross, speaking at the Leicester Square premiere of the latest Star Trek movie last night, said of the impromptu broadcast: "It was great fun. One day I want to do a big show with him and we will rule the world together.

"I was asleep when he called me." Jane said, ' Who is that?'

And I said, 'It's Russ'. She said, ' Don't! Don't!' But by that time it was too late.

"Hopefully we've healed the hurt."

Jonathan joined Brand, 33, over the phone for the two-hour show, which was pre-recorded the night before and was cohosted by Noel Gallagher. Last night, Wossy, 48, was in full geek mode as he professed his love for Star Trek.

He said: "I'm a big Star Trek fan and have been since day one. I've met William Shatner many, many times over the years and he is still my dream captain."

Other stars who walked the red carpet were Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the movie, Lorraine Kelly, James May, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson.
