Lily Allen scoops a $2k bill after ice cream riot

Updated 12:55pm on 23 Apr 2009

LilY Allen really knows how to chill out at the end of a tour. The singer marked the end of her North American shows last night with a massive ice cream fight in her dressing room. But the owners of the venue didn't see the funny side and landed her with a $2,000 (£1,100) clean-up bill.

Causing a ripple: Lily in US

Lily, 23, closed the latest leg of her tour by popping across the border to Canada for a show at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto.

A source said: "Lily was definitely in the mood to party. The tour has gone brilliantly and she has gone down very well with the audiences over here.

"She was nervous about the whole American tour, so it was a big relief for her to f ini sh on a high. Lil, her b and and crew were really letting loose backstage and things just got out of control. She had ordered several tubs of ice cream on her rider, and she just began flinging it at her pals. Before long, everyone was chucking it about and it was all over the dressing room."

Sounds like a hoot - but not for the bosses at the venue, who were furious and handed the cleaning bill to her management. But the party wasn't going to stop there. Lily told everyone it was "time to get mashed" before partying into the night.

This came only a day after she appeared on US TV saying she feared she used to be more famous "for being a train wreck than a singer".

Well, at least she waited until the very end of the tour before letting her hair down.

Lil now has a few days off before starting a four-month tour of Europe, which includes Somerset House in July and the V Festival in August. Let's hope those venues keep their ice cream under lock and key...
