Singing sensation Susan Boyle has a makeover

Updated 12:13pm on 24 Apr 2009

Britain's Got talent contestant Susan Boyle has defied the judges' warnings not to have a makeover - by dyeing her greying hair.

Makeover: Susan Boyle with stylish new haircut, plucked eyebrows, natty new leather jacket and a Burberry scarf (left) and the old look (right)

The global singing sensation, who was scorned for her wild grey locks and bushy eyebrows before stunning the panel and the audience with her singing, showed off her new look after emerging from a local salon. She had disguised the grey and tamed the frizzy curls with a trendy wavy look. She also had her eyebrows reshaped and revamped her wardrobe.

Judge amanda Holden had told her not to have a makeover as the public love her just as she is, and said she would not be sending the 48-year-old spinster to Simon Cowell's dentist.

Meanwhile, a female vicar has compared the scottish singer to Jesus Christ. Reverend Angela Tilby, speaking on Radio 4, said: "When she came on people laughed at her but as soon as she opened her mouth the mood altered. Those watching tapped into something we don't understand. It reminded me bizarrely of how the gospels speak of Jesus."

I think she looks very nice. It's not like she got plastic surgery--she went to a salon. If I were getting my picture taken as much as she has the past few weeks I'd make sure my hair looked good too. Don't let the naysayers get to you Susan!

She's a classy and talented singer. I don't care what she wears.

Her looks aren't who she is. Her soul and spirit are who she is and a hairdo and eyebrows won't hurt her if her countrymen have a brain in their heads. She is a darlin' lass with a VOICE. God bless her as she goes out there and sweeps those brits off their feet. GO SUSAN!
