The Beckhams flee Eastenders' wedding

The Beckhams had to beat a hasty retreat last night after finding themselves in the middle of an Albert Square knees up. David and Victoria found their Mayfair hotel flooded with EastEnders stars for the wedding reception of Mark Womack and Samantha Janus, who plays Ronnie Mitchell.

Sharp exit: Victoria Beckham looks less than pleased as she and David leave Claridge's

Not exactly the type of crowd you'd expect Posh and Becks to be knocking around with - and it would be a public relations nightmare if über-stylish Posh was photographed standing next to... well, any of them really. So while the stars of the soap became merry and began taking over Claridge's, the Beckhams decided to sneak out the back. A source said: "The Beckhams arrived on Thursday, and have been staying at the hotel while in London on business. David is helping launch England's 2018 World Cup bid.

Restrained: a reveller is wrestled to the ground outside Claridge's

"The wedding got into full swing, with many of the guests taking advantage of the free drinks on offer. One chap took things a bit too far and had to be restrained by a minder outside the entrance.

"It's little wonder David and Victoria didn't want to hang around - they ended up sneaking out of the back entrance to try and avoid the crowd."

And there was no doubt about Victoria's mood as she fled the scene - trying to cover her face in the back of the car.

ziggy and her stardust need to have a sit-down with Dot Cotton and Pat and a few of the ladies of Albert Square. Or she can move on down to the Park Lane Hilton where she will feel right at home. Albert square has been around a lot longer than Posh and will be still there while she's knittin' in the home.

Such "devoted" parents, once again leaving their sons in the care of nannies and minders.

And to say that they left because the Eastenders cast were making a tacky spectacle is a little rich, given the credentials of those two.

Mrs & Mrs Beckham both come from Essex so they should be used to the antics of the likes of the cast of Eastenders, some people really do have asprations of grandeur dont they!
