No wags rule from Beyoncé

Beyoncé and Jay-Z clearly have no time for the C-list. The music royalty slapped a strict no-WAGS-and-footballers rule as they took over Movida nightclub at the weekend.

In full cry: Beyoncé at The O2

And there were plenty of people to keep away - the club was playing host to an end of season footballers' bash.

Guests included Jermaine Jenas and a huge group of pals, Fulham stars Andy Johnson and Zak Knight, and Chelsea boys John Obi Mikel, Salomon Kalou, Didie r Dro gba and Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor.

Our source said: "Beyoncé and Jay-Z had the top table in the VIP area and spent thousands on Cristal champagne and Belvedere vodka. Their security team was on strict orders to keep the plebs at bay, and none of the footballers or their mates got anywhere near them.

"They were joined by Beyoncé's sister and 10 others, but only had two security guards. They had their hands full keeping everyone at bay.

"The couple are normally fairly private, but were being very tactile and ignoring the rest of their group. Beyoncé was singing along to Jay's tunes with him filling in the rapping parts."

Some people say footballers have more money than sense, and Michael Essien proved them right on Sunday night.

Jewellers Frost Of London had set up shop in the club with £12 million of stock to tempt the tipsy footballers. Chelsea star Essien ordered an £80,000 Jacob and Co watch with his own face encrusted in diamonds on the front.

Our source added: "It was the end of the premiership, so loads of footballers were just really going for it. A five-man team was brought in to guard the £ 12m worth of jewellery on sale."

Lorraine, London....couldn't agree with you more....these two individuals show these footballers and ruffians with their desperado, glamour girl cohorts how to do a night on the town with class and self respect...that you can go out and enjoy the trappings that come from your hard eaned spoils without reducing yourself to an embarrassing, inebriated mess!!

- Ali Sichilongo, London

Can you blame them? Why would they want a bunch of footballers who only date nasty girls and z listers to their night out?
