Katie Price will be quizzed by police after her former boyfriend was arrested for suspected drink-driving - and named her as his alibi.

Dane Bowers was detained along with a friend after a Vauxhall Tigra was found crashed into a hedge outside Price's Surrey mansion at 4am yesterday.

Bowers told police the car had been stolen and he could not have been driving at the time as he had been with Price. The model, formerly known as Jordan, i s involved in a bitter divorce battle with singer Peter Andre.

Bowers, 29, and Price, 30, were together for two years, during which he starred in a home-made porn film with her. They split in Katie faces police quiz over crash 2000 but they were together again yesterday when neighbours heard a "huge bang" outside Price's £2.5m home in Woldingham. Former boy band singer Bowers and his friend, named only as Adam, insisted the car had been crashed by a thief - even though it is alleged the keys were found on Bowers.

A police source said: "They were taken to a station to work out who was driving - and that is when Mr Bowers said Jordan could give him an alibi. Exactly what he was doing with Jordan is not part of the investigation. She is just needed to verify he was where he was when he said. She will be asked if Mr Bowers drove away from the address or if she understands the car was taken."

Former Another Level singer Bowers, who is married to agent Chrissy Johnston, was released with his 26-year-old friend on police bail yesterday.

The presence of a man at Price's home in the early hours is set to annoy Andre, 36. Over the weekend, Price's horse riding friend Andrew Gould spent three hours with her.

Price and Andre parted earlier this month. Andre wants joint custody of his children with Price - Junior, three, and Princess Tiaamii, one - and access to Harvey, seven, Price's son with soccer star Dwight Yorke.
