Dr Who to hit big screen with Tennant in starring role
Last updated at 14:41pm on 28.05.09Doctor Who is heading for the big screen after BBC bosses announced work has begun on a script for a movie.

Star: David Tennant
Although David Tennant, 38, will make his final appearance as the Doctor at the end of this year, a show insider suggests he could return to the role for the movie. The insider said: "It's a perfect scenario. David understandably wants to go off and do different roles but he still loves Doctor Who. If the film takes off and there's demand for more, he can continue to play the Doctor occasionally." Tennant hands over the role to Matt Smith, 26, after three more special episodes, to be aired over Christmas.
