Elaine Paige wants one-to-one with Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle's idol Elaine Paige wants to meet the Britain's Got Talent runner-up for an emotional heart-to-heart.

Idol: Elaine Paige, far right, says she's not yet been allowed to meet Susan Boyle

West End star Paige, 61, has offered her support to Boyle, who was today still at The Priory rehab clinic in north London recovering from stress.

When the 48-year-old Scot first auditioned for BGT, she told the talent show's judges she would like her singing career to emulate that of Paige. And in the semi-final last week, Boyle sang Memory, the song from Cats made famous by Paige.

Last night, at the opening night of the musical Sister Act at the London Palladium, Paige said: "Coping with stress and stuff in this business is no laughing matter.

"I've said all along I want to meet her very early on, after she was vastly covered on Britain's Got Talent. I haven't so far been allowed to meet her. I hope that changes. I would love to meet her any time, anywhere, with no cameras and no one else with us. In the meantime, I wish her well. Be quiet, Susan, and let them get on with it."

Boyle has received another boost with an invitation to perform at the White House.

According to her brother John, who expects her home in West Lothian "within days", she has been asked by President Barack Obama to take part in a special performance on 4 July, Independence Day in the US.

Jomike - you're welcome to her. I agree with Jackie, I want to hear about Diversity, the deserved winners of BGT.

Jackie, Susan had 250 million hits on the Internet for all the videos posted - that's almost the population of the United States. We love her voice and if y'all don't want her, we do! She will record and we're all gonna make her very rich so she can stay home with Pebbles after a few years and never have to work again unless she wants to. She has a beautiful quality to her voice and she puts emotion into her songs. Her 10-yr-old recording of "Cry Me a River" shows she is diverse. We wish her a speedy recovery and a rewarding career!

I'm so pleased that E.P. is still supporting Susan and I truly hope she is given a chance to meet Susan. I feel it would be a boost for her. Now that Susan has her cat, she now needs her old singing coach, Fred O'Neil. E.P. Max Clifford and Simon Cowell ought to look into this fellow. He knows Susan, she knows him, he has a recording studio, he is very gentle and patient and has not tried to cash in on her fame.

At least all the current politcal scandals have kept the media's attention away from Susan Boyle, so at least she can try and get her life back together. The sharks might retreat into the sea, and maybe she'll get a chance to pursue the career that remember, was the reason why she entered BGT in the first place.
