Grieving Jack Tweed can't get into Bungalow 8

Spare a thought for poor Jack Tweed. Still grieving over the tragic loss of his wife Jade Goody, he had to suffer the indignity of being refused entry to a trendy nightclub in front of his female companions last night.

Big night out: Jack on his way home this morning

It's the last thing the poor lamb needs after recently being released from jail for battering a taxi driver.

Jack, 21, began his night at Movida in Soho with three girls, including club promoter Tara Rocks, and a male pal. But, as he left (with what looked like a smudge of lipstick on his cheek), he attempted to distance himself from the girls when he spotted waiting photographers.

Phone a friend: Jack tries in vain to get into Bungalow 8 this morning

An onlooker said: "He put some distance between himself and the girls, and when they tried to get into his cab, he physically pushed them out."

His next stop was Bungalow 8 in Covent Garden - where two of the girls reappeared (perhaps the third remembered the recent passing of Jade, who died of cancer on Mother's Day, and decided that a night out with her widower was in poor taste).

Triple trouble: Jack Tweed and his trio of women outside Movida

As if by divine intervention, the group was denied entry to the club. Our spy said: "It's an exclusive venue and Jack isn't a member. And he isn't the sort of clientele the club covets. He was pretty put out when he was told he couldn't come in, and tried to make a few phone calls to try and overturn the doorman's decision. But he didn't have any luck."

The group sulked off into the adjoining St Martin's Lane Hotel, where they hit the bar until 2am.

Even Jack's publicist Max Clifford has expressed concern at his partying so soon after Jade's death.

He said last week: "It's a disaster waiting to happen, but nobody can make him listen to sense."

In the first photo is Jack kissing his wedding ring or getting ready to thump someone?

- Natalie, London

Given his history of violence, for which he has been jailed twice, if I ran a club, I wouldn't let him in it either.

- Sarah, London

When my wife died, I sought solace in the arms of a string of cheap women on drunken nights out. It was an empty experience. But as empty experiences go, it was one of the best. Fill your boots Jack, the more heartless and mercenary you appear, the more you really cared.
