It's the morning after the night before and Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be indulging in a little text flirting.

The budding romance came as Ronaldo, 24, was celebrating his £80m transfer to Real Madrid at the LA nightclub MyHouse.

Before long, hotel heiress Paris Hilton, 28, had the Portuguese winger in her sights and the pair were soon all over each other in a VIP booth. He was invited back to the house of Paris's sister Nicky - where he stayed until 5am.

Lads on tour: Ronaldo's cousins

Ronaldo, later seen lounging around the pool of his hotel with his cousins, appeared to receive what looked like a saucy text which he could not resist showing the boys. His new friend was also snapped sending a text on her phone yesterday, leading to speculation-that the two were contacting each other. Paris seemed to be suffering a sore head as she stepped out in white- rimmed white sunglasses.

There is speculation that the pair are now dating, only 24 hours after she split from baseball player Doug Reinhardt, 24. Paris reportedly told friends the chemistry between her and Ronaldo "was electric".

During the evening they spent together, one onlooker said: "Cristiano and Paris were all over each other the entire night.

"His table needed every waitress in the building to service them with large quantities of alcohol." Club sources said Ronaldo spent more than £15,000 on premium Cristal champagne at up to £650 a bottle.

At one stage Paris's black dress rose well above thigh-level as she moved in for a kiss.

Ronaldo is in California for a holiday. The party girl approached him last year in another LA club and a friend said: "She was determined to get her man this time."

While on the surface the pair might not have a lot in common, they definitely had one thing to talk about this week - the size of their bank balances.

Gosh, how exciting. Neither of these two has the slightest influence on my life. Now, a good Open University TV programme on sewerage, now THAT would be more interesting.
