Cameron Diaz gets the Tom Cruise thumbs up

The actress was awarded the 2,386th star yesterday and attributed her successful career to "the eternal love my mum and dad shared".

Cruise, who co-starred with Diaz in the 2002 film Vanilla Sky, smiled proudly and hugged her - which may not have been the most pleasant experience as he was sweating profusely. Actress Holmes stood by, looking somewhat dressed-down in a slouchy cardigan next to Diaz's pretty lace dress.
Also there was Diaz's co-star in Charlie's Angels, Lucy Liu. Diaz, 36, whose father died in April, has a new movie, My Sister's Keeper, out on Friday.
