Davina McCall: I'm fed up with people attacking Big Brother

Davina McCall has admitted that constant criticism of Big Brother is starting to get to her.

Leave BB alone: Davina McCall

The 41-year-old host of the reality TV show said she is getting fed up with being bombarded with messages from people telling her how much they hate it. She said: "If you are, for some unknown reason, not enjoying BB, please don't tell me. It's really harshing my mellow."

McCall also revealed that certain social situations make her uncomfortable when people get "snobby" about her job.

She said: "I love doing Big Brother. As a presenter, the longevity of the show really appeals to me. For me it's pure entertainment. It is a bit of a guilty pleasure.

"I'm really in the firing line because whenever I go out, if I go out to a posh dinner party, I just get abuse from start to finish about presenting Big Brother.

"They say, 'Surely you should be presenting something more highbrow or interesting?' And if say, 'I really find it interesting, I'm sorry', people are so snobby about it. It's just an entertainment programme."

McCall, who has presented the show since the first series in 2000, also confirmed that there would be another Big Brother next year.

Writing on her Twitter page, she said: "Message to all. There is another BB next year. I am presenting it."

Meanwhile, contestants Freddie Fisher and Angel McKenzie were last night nominated for eviction by their fellow housemates live on air.

Fisher, 24, who changed his name by deed poll to Halfwit to become a housemate, took his third nomination well.

He said: "Again? Gosh. I thought I might get a week off." But the prospect of facing the public vote was too much for Russian artist McKenzie, 35, who got five nominations, and she had to be comforted by Fisher.

So what exactly has Davina done of note outside of BB. I don't watch this rubbish and am not surprised DM defends this one crass show that keeps her face regularly on the tv.

Hb, rochford, essex your comment is totally uncalled for. Davina is doing a great job at presenting BB and BBBM, granted some people maybe bored with BB but that doesn't give them the right the complain to Davina about it they should tell the producers of the show instead. I agree with Mk, Somerset that "I have not heard any of them have an intelligent conversation yet. All it is about is Breasts, Sex and who's slept with who." but they have improved the format of the show this year by giving the housemates more tasks to do and i really think they should do the live nominations every week as it was fun to watch, seeing the HM's put under pressure and a good twist would be vote face to face.

Davina - certainly not criticizeing you, cus i think your just brilliant at presenting BB so funny at times.
You say you are fed up with people criticizeing BB10, but us the public are entitled to our opinions. Whatever its still compulsive viewing but this year it is terrible. I have not heard any of them have an intelligent conversation yet.
All it is about is Breasts, Sex and who's slept with who.
