Sir Tom Jones is moving back to Britain after 35 years living in Los Angeles because his wife is homesick.

The Welsh singer is selling the Hollywood mansion he bought from Dean Martin in 1974 when he first moved to the US.

Sir Tom, 69, made the announcement after his friend and neighbour, Robbie Williams, moved back home. Sir Tom said: "I've had a great time in LA but after all these years we think now is the time to move home. My wife Linda has been getting homesick and we have been talking it over.

"I decided to move before Robbie but he got here before me." Sir Tom, who is touring Britain this autumn, hopes to move before the end of the year. "Britain has always been home," he said.
