Cheryl Cole jets in and gets a surprise welcome in LA

Cheryl Cole was given an enthusiastic welcome by fans as she arrived in Los Angeles yesterday.

Looking impossibly fresh and bright-eyed after her long-haul flight, she seemed surprised to see the paparazzi and fans waiting for her.

But the 26-year-old Girls Aloud star didn't hang around — flashing a quick smile and firing off an autograph for one lucky punter before she was whisked away in the back of a limo.

Cheryl is putting the finishing touches on her solo album — helped by Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am — but is also rumoured to be in the city to talk to NBC bosses about her hosting the US version of The X Factor.

However, by the looks of all her luggage, she might be planning a permanent move to Hollywood.

I think cheryl is great and i hope she achieves what she wishes for and her single and album do well,I have seen girls aloud live in manchester and know they didn't mime however take that mimed at the brits did anybody comment on that ? stop dissing girls aloud if you have never seen them live.i wasn't aware of her until the x factor and it certainly raised her profile just like simon said it would and she has run with it..

OMG cheryl cole is a beauty role model, and she's not too skinny. she's done alot 2 get 2 were she iz today. ANd ashley is a gud husband apart from dat 1 tyme. you's are all just jelouse.

But she beta stay living in england!! it's were she belongs

You jealous southerners don't have a clue!

For a start off she doesn't mime - you would know this if you've actually seen Girls Aloud perform live - "badly manufactured pop songs" ?!! They're officially the most successful girl band EVER!

Get your facts straight!

She's a fantastic role model to younger girls!
