Media scrum greets Amy Winehouse ahead of assault trial

Updated 11:13am on 23 Jul 2009

Singer Amy Winehouse was greeted by a huge press scrum today as she arrived for her trial for an alleged assault on a woman at a charity ball.

Scrum: Amy Winehouse arrives at court

She gasped as she stepped out of a black people carrier to be confronted by more than 60 photographers outside the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in central London.

The singer, wearing a smart grey suit, was accompanied into the building by a number of personal security staff.

At an earlier hearing, the 25-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge that she attacked Sherene Flash in Berkeley Square, central London, last September.

Winehouse, who had performed at the ball before she is alleged to have assaulted Ms Flash, gave her name as Amy Jade Civil at the March hearing.

She has recently returned to the UK following an extended break in St Lucia.

Winehouse was divorced from her estranged husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, earlier this month.

She looks ridiculous. And she certainly is not that great.

if there was ever a time when she should look great its now - 6 months in St Lucia and now hoing to make a good impression in court

Not even Amy Winehouse is that deluded to turn up in a blood stained vest & denim batty riders

Only time shall tell if she is back on Track or is in fact back to black!

Absolutely JC. This silly model who called her something unprintable because Amy didnt want to have her picture taken with her, is the biggest media-craver I have ever encountered. She calls herself "flash" but you don'thave to ask why. do you ?
