Slum-thing to hide as Dev Patel and Freida Pinto play down their puppy love

It's no secret that they have been dating for months, so it was odd to see Dev Patel legging it from snappers to avoid being pictured with Freida Pinto last night.

The Slumdog Millionaire stars had a romantic meal out in New York before leaving for their hotel together. But when the reluctant pair spotted waiting photographers, Dev broke into a comedy run to get away from his other half.

The cheeky so-and-so couldn't keep the grin off his face as he made a dash for it, leaving Freida to walk into their hotel alone. Rumours surfaced that Freida, 25, and Dev, 19, were more than just friends back in February as Slumdog mania swept the nation. Their cover was blown by co-star Anil Kapoor, who revealed: “When I meet them, I feel there is something happeming"

The difference between these two and the usual z list talentless losers that are featured in the media is that they don't need to publicise they are in a relationship in order to gain column inches and hope it will gain them a career.

I think them dating is very refreshing...I could tell on screen that they would probably have something going. And I just viewed this movie yesterday for the very first time...and after watching a second time today, I could tell they liked each other on screen. Then I watched TMZ tonight and WHAM! there they were, together (Ironic)... with Dev running from the camera persons...lol..I think it is very lovely. He is just shy is all. And i would probably run too if i thought it would do any good. Nice Couple!!!
