Noel Edmonds said today he had "found his soul mate" after marrying for the third time.

The 60-year-old Deal or No Deal star wed makeup artist Liz Davies in a low-key ceremony in the Cotswolds.

Warm summer sunshine bathed the pretty Gloucestershire village of Lower Slaughter as close friends and family joined the couple for the wedding.

After a civil service in a hotel, Edmonds and his new wife, 40, were blessed in the 13th-century Church of St Mary's.

Afterwards, Edmonds spoke of his delight at being joined with the woman he loved.

"This has been a magical day, it really has," he said.

"I don't know what to say, I'm so happy.

"I can't remember being this happy and this content.

"We met on October 6, 2006 at six minutes past 11 in the morning.

"She walked into the dressing room I had at Deal or No Deal and was introduced as the stand-in makeup artist who would be doing me for the next three days.

"Then something strange happened, and here we are."

He said there had been an instant chemistry between them.

"To start with it was all very professional, but there was a look in both our eyes," he said.
"If you speak to Liz, she would say she didn't sleep for three nights and I couldn't stop thinking about her.

"The relationship grew very quickly and just seemed to be right.

"I've finally found my soul mate.

"I've read about it in books and seen it in films, and now it's happened."

Edmonds and his bride turned down big-money magazine offers for the rights to their wedding, instead preferring a simple affair with fewer than 100 guests.

Vicar Godfrey Simpson, who blessed the couple, almost stole the show with his amusing address. Two senior television executives at the wedding joked they were considering signing the vicar up for his own series.

The bride wore a traditional veil and full-length ivory gown designed especially for her by Noi, which is run by a friend of hers.

As the couple left the stone church, the bells rang out and the strains of Beethoven's Ode to Joy could be heard on the organ.

Was the diminutive star standing on a box in that picture or was he fortunate enough to find a soul mate even shorter than he is?
