Noel Fielding given Mighty Boot by Pixie Geldof and comedy festival

Spare a thought for Mighty Boosh comedian Noel Fielding, who has lost a girlfriend and a festival in just a week. It was revealed at the weekend that Noel had been dumped by his teenage love interest Pixie Geldof, so he'll no doubt be devastated to hear that he has also been dumped from the festival he helped mastermind last year.

He and comedy partner Julian Barratt set up the Mighty Boosh Festival at Hop Farm in Kent last summer, performing their comedy alongside other acts in front of 30,000 fans.

But music mogul Vince Power, who co-organised the event, says he wants to hold it again this year � minus the Mighty Boosh boys (we're assuming he'd have to change the name in that case).

Vince told us the festival had been put on hold this summer, but would be back with more �major� acts next year.

In a thinly veiled swipe at Noel and Julian, he said: �I would love to do it, not necessarily with the Mighty Boosh again, but with major, major acts like Peter Kay and Eddie Izzard. On a main stage with 25,000 people watching it. It shouldn't be any different from rock'n'roll. In my opinion it's a good idea to have a big main-stage open-air festival.�

It must be a double blow for Noel, 36, after 18-year-old Pixie called time on their on-off fling. According to reports, she finished with him after finding out he was flirting with fans while on tour in the US.

Hmmm. Noel, flirting? If it took her that long to realise that he's a bit of a ladies' man then she has a lot of growing up to do. The pair first hooked up two years ago, and have both been with several partners in between. We wouldn't be at all surprised if a reunion is on the cards soon.

The Mighty Boosh remains psychotically funny and witty even after countless TV repeats!! Julian Barrett was on gloriously top form recently as a completely pretentious and talentless muso in the equally hilarious,Dan Black comedy, 'How Not To Live Your Life'!! Gems!!

Love Noel to pieces. He could not have been more of a gentleman when I saw him in San Diego and LA. Had my 16year niece in tow in LA. He was gracious and lovely.

I don't feel sorry for him. It is gross he is dating a teenager just because he can. He is lucky he isn't an American TV star. That would have been the career kiss of death. Very sad.

He hooked up with her two years ago? So he was 34 & she was 16?

I'm sorry, that may be (just about) legal, but it's not very nice. He seems a bit of a scuzz-bucket to me.

My niece is 16 and I'd be far from happy if some 34 year started putting moves on her - Lord knows what my brother would want to do to him...
