Victoria Beckham scales new heights for Armani underwear shoot
Updated 13:35pm on 4 Aug 2009She is known as a pop star, footballer's wife and fashion guru - but now it seems Victoria Beckham has developed a rare new talent.

DIY chic: Victoria Beckham skillfully climbs a ladder with heels
In her latest underwear photo shoot for Emporio Armani, the former Spice Girl appears to have successfully climbed a ladder while wearing high heels.
It is a challenge most other DIY enthusiasts would not dare to attempt - but one the 35-year-old mother-of-three looks to have accomplished with effortless ease.

The thought of climbing a ladder wearing just your underwear would be enough to deter most people - and Posh was also faced with the added complication of the high heels.
But, while it is not clear how many rungs she climbed for the image, health and safety experts will be hoping it does not prompt a new celebrity-inspired trend.
Along with her husband, David, 34, Victoria posed for a series of shots taken by renowned fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Milan.
They will appear in fashion magazines and on signature billboards in major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo, from September.

Reading these comments, its amazing how jealous people can be.
Most women I know would do anything to look like Mrs Beckham after so many kids, and most men I know would do anything to have a wife/girlfriend who look liked Mrs Beckham after so many kids!!

She hasn't 'climbed' the ladder, you idiot - look at the angle of her feet on the rungs. She's 'walking' along a horizontal ladder - probably waaaaaaay up there at least... oh, three feet off the ground.

Unfortunately I am one of the sad people that love the Beckhams. I think they really compliment each other, I love the way they dress and look but even I have to agree that this isn't a good picture. I'm now sure if any of you remember George Michael's Fastlove video but there was a frightfully skinny woman and this is what Victoria reminds me of. I do wish she'd smile once in a while. I think David may have to have another "alleged affair" so they can perform for the cameras again and we can see Victoria smiling broadly.

"Victoria Beckham skillfully climbs a ladder with heels".
A didn't know ladders were sufficiently fashion-conscious (or conscious at all, for that matter) to wear heels.

You can't say Twiggy has had the most airbrushing after these ghastly pics. Have Armani abandoned trying the attract sales!! I do not buy celeb endorsed products and like Paul B am happier for it If Beckhams touch it I dont. Life is just too short.

I like Victoria she has a good sense of humour, seeing her interviewed she is v.witty. But ..... she looks like a stick insect..not very flattering really. She looked better when she was a spice and had a bit more meat on her.

Give the poor girl a big-mac or something to fatten her up. She looks like she's starving. And while you're at it (and at the risk of cracking her poly-filler), tickle her to make her smile.

What's that stupid THING emerging from her head?
She's not actually climbing the ladder. She looks like she's desperately crawling along it for a good meal at the other end.
In those heals, she will probably fall off and crack her face.

hilarious. and to think they spent loads of money, paid her some improbable amount then decided to actually run this advert straightfacedly gives a whole new example of The Emperors New Clothes. Did no one point out this looks absurd ? even japanese teenagers wouldn't fall for this - well actually they probably will.

What a strange creation she is, the product of an over active media world. It's amazing what air brushing and following a "celebrity" diet can do. I hate to think what will happen when she can no longer re-invent her self to get onto the front cover of national enquirer.

The face might have a slight resemblance of the real model, however the body has been seriously manufactured. In reality she is very skinny with boney knobbly knees and protruding collar bones with a sign of either suffering from anearoxia and or bullimia. Who are we kidding here? Money does not buy perfection.

CGI is all; was she, or anyone else, actually on a ladder at any time? We need to train ourselves mentallyto regard all imagery as animation, unless proof exists to the contrary.

It`s about time a few rules were dictated concerning any model used in advertising.
For example;
All must be AVERAGE weight for their HEIGHT (-0 percent, plus 5 percent)
Images that have been digitally airbrushed MUST state so, and list the changes made.
Just these two rules ,if enforced should drag (?) females back to reality of what a REAL person looks like, as opposed to the extremely disturbing view that fashion designers are peddling of "perfection" (i.e their designs only look acceptably "good" on tall skinny coat hanger models) .
We go on about healthy lifestyles - well, for the physical AND mental wellbeing of our young and easily led fashion addicts, this misinterpretation of perfection has to be stopped.
