Jude Law's recent run of bad publicity after he reportedly got New Yorker model Samantha Burke pregnant seems to have done his popularity no harm.

Popularity: Jude Law signs autographs

He was swarmed by more fans than ever after his performance in Hamlet at the Wyndham's Theatre.

Just visible: Jude is mobbed by fans and photographers

I think Jude is a fantastic actor, a loving father and as far as I am concerned is a good man. As most people say he has not slept with another man's wife , yes, he has made mistakes and apologised. Give the man a break and let him get on with his job, acting.

"He isn't sleeping with someone's wife (or husband LOL), isn't in and out of rehab, hasn't beaten his girlfriend, doesn't go on long 5-minute cussing tirades against film crew, doesn't badmouth anyone, or hasn't defrauded the public or stolen money."

Absolutely right, Sheryl. He is a great actor and that is what matters. People are not so stupid as to put any store in the idiot tabloids, or so I hope.

I have seen his Hamlet and I believe that in due time Jude Law will be considered among the greats, along the lines of Gielgud and Olivier. Mark my word.

As the 'bad publicity' mainly consists of a whole lot of speculation from tabloids I don't see why it should harm his popularity with his fans. They obviously like and admire him because he's a great actor and kind to his fans. Should they stop liking him because he has sex while being single? Sorry, but if anyone thought a single Jude Law would life without sex, I think they deluded.

And he should be, his Hamlet performance is reportedly amazing, and I've already got my ticket and trip booked to NYC in the fall. The "bad publicity" is overrated, as this is a personal issue between 2 people that's been blown out of proportion by the media...that's the media's "bad," not Jude's. He isn't sleeping with someone's wife (or husband LOL), isn't in and out of rehab, hasn't beaten his girlfriend, doesn't go on long 5-minute cussing tirades against film crew, doesn't badmouth anyone, or hasn't defrauded the public or stolen money. So yeah, he should be lauded and respected for his good work and all the other good things he is. He's as human as you and I. Even aside from this current situation, I can't imagine why the media makes such a big deal that a single Jude freakin' Law has sex from time to time. A single man who enjoys S-E-X (gasp!) Seems to be their problem, not his. Maybe they just need some S-E-X of their own.
