Victoria Beckham is 'too nice' for American Idol

Victoria Beckham has been branded “too nice” for American idol following her debut as a judge on the show.

Doing a Cheryl?: Posh on the phone in Los Angeles after judging

It was announced on Tuesday that Paula Abdul would be leaving the hit TV series and that Posh would appear on the judging panel as her replacement for one episode.

But her performance didn't go down well. Staff called her “icy and wooden” while others complained she was trying too hard to be liked by the contestants. Maybe she has been taking tips from Cheryl Cole who would often burst into tears when judging The X-Factor – the British version of the show.

The ex-Spice Girl said before her appearance: “I'm going to try hard to pout and not shatter the illusion that I'm a moody cow, but I don't know if I can. I'm just so happy.”

She added: “I know how it feels to be stood there and be judged and how it can feel when nerves get the better of you.”

As well as boosting her reputation Stateside there were other perks for the appearance including a rumoured £155,000 pay check to join Simon Cowell, songwriter Kara DioGuardi and producer Randy Jackson for the recording of the US show in Denver on Friday.

Beckham, a close friend of Cowell, is one of several celebrities stepping in for Abdul, who quit the competition, reportedly in a pay dispute. Katy Perry is also reportedly on the bill. And despite the criticism Posh may even record a second show.

I was gonna say "YAAAAAY!" and cheer. However, I can't help feeling just a mite sorry for her. The problem is that she tries WAY, WAY, WAY too hard to impress and be "better" than everyone else, and do the publicity thing, but there isn't really anything substantial there to promote. If she took a few years out to work on herself and produce something that was really of worth (and have a bit of FUN along the way), she would garner a heck of a lot more respect, and everyone would be happier, including her. Ah, what greed does to one!

David Beckham and Jennifer Lopez will be more suitable because JLO is a real beautiful woman and she has what it takes to be with a man like him.
Victoria is lack of looks, no class and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to keep any man let alone David.

'I cannot understand why anyone would take any notice of what this egotistical publicity seeking wannabe says or does'

Just want to point out that you clicked the link to this article, read it, and posted a comment - to ask why people paid her any attention.

If this is the time and effort you put into something you have no interest in, you must be really, really bored (or a judgemental hypocrite).

Too nice or just too crap, which for that load of tosh really is saying something. Would be almost funny were it not for the obscene fees that this useless bag of bones commands.

She is a very smart and intelligent woman - why don't people stop criticising her. At least she didn't beat up a toilet attendant like Cheryl! Everyone seems to have forgotten that.

The only thing "too" about Mrs. Beckham is that she's too thin and too non smiling.

Nice she ain't. She lacks the necessary skills to be a judge. Simon Cowelll did the same thing with Kelly Brook If she thinks that she is there for any other reason than quick publicity she has misjudged her 'friend' and their friendship. VB would do well to ponder 'with friends like him who needs enemies' Ego not good judgment made her go on that show.
