No smoke without fire as Friel and Lily Allen light up
Updated 08:31am on 12 Aug 2009Who said the ladette is dead? Anna Friel (left) and Lily Allen (right) did not run out of puff when they hit town last night.

Both could be seen chugging away on cigarettes. Friel was spotted in Notting Hill whilst Allen was in Soho. Government health advisors look away now.

Oh would you all please get over super-PC selves. They're just having a fag for goodness sake, anyone would think they were shooting up heroin from your condemning remarks. And since when did popping outside for a quick smoke constitute being a 'ladette'??

These beautiful, talented young women are slowly killing themselves. It is such a crying shame.

Do people who smoke realise how much they smell? Really unattractive. Guess that's why most smokers end up with a partner who also smokes -- they don't notice the stink!

It won't seem so cool when they are both unrecognisable 5 stone skeletons dying of cancer, while their kids helplessly watch - that's how both my parents ended up, orphaning me before the age of 20 with their selfish addictions. Once you've seen someone reduced to a coughing, near-dead shell by cigarettes you soon go off the idea of appearing 'cool'.

Silly girls...it's not cool, hasnt been cool for 40 years and it's never been good for your health...but pulling the oxygen cannister on the trolley at celebrity parties will be all the rage in 20 years I'm sure.
Not sure I remember Oompa Loompa's smoking in the original Gene Wilder Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...but there's yer evidence on the right!
