Kohli lands new BBC job despite being dropped for six months
Updated 08:40am on 20 Aug 2009Presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli has landed a new BBC job, despite being dropped from the corporation's The One Show for six months after "stepping over the mark" with a female researcher.
Kohli is presenting a five-part afternoon show called Tea and Biscuits on BBC Radio 4 this week.

Radio slot: Hardeep Singh Kohli is a roving reporter on The One Show
In July, it emerged that he had been removed from BBC1's weekday evening programme for six months after the researcher lodged a complaint about his behaviour two months previously.
Kohli previously said he had apologised "unreservedly" for his behaviour after being hauled before bosses.
He said: "Nobody has accused me of sexual harassment."
A BBC Radio 4 spokeswoman said that Kohli had not been banned from The One Show but has taken a "mutually agreed leave of absence" from the programme, on which he has been a roving reporter.
She said: "This does not include his work for Radio 4."
Since being taken on as a trainee for the corporation in Scotland, Kohli has appeared in a number of other programmes, including Famous, Rich and Homeless.
Kohli is examining British culture in the radio show, including visiting a blood donation centre and a vicar and his parishioner.
In February, Carol Thatcher was fired from The One Show after allegedly referring to a tennis player as a "Golliwog" off-air.

But then using sick humour helps with the ratings, as it is all cross border media habitat ~ whatever that means. Diversity in the BBC don't ya just love it.

What I have seen of him which is a bit on Masterchef and the Scientolgy programme plus a few guests appearances I have liked.
For his sake I hope his 'One Show' stumble has averted a career 'fall'

Kohli has a droll dry sense of humour which appeals to many R4 and BBC1 listeners. It is gentler and less ruder than Ross. He has stood in for Libby Purvis and other presenters and deserves a show of his own. Its a good blend of old english and asian brit humour. But he also needs to examine d fashioned Sikh attitudes a bit more through humour.
