Jack Tweed was arrested by police today after claims that a teenager was sexually assaulted in his house in the early hours of this morning.

Arrested: Jack Tweed

Jade Goody's widower was held at his home in Redbridge hours after a woman in her late teens made the claim.

Tweed was arrested with another man, said to be in his 20s.

The 21-year-old, whose antics have prompted a series of headlines since Goody's death in March, was being questioned at an east London police station this morning.

The two men were arrested after a woman in her late teens walked into Waltham Forest police station this morning and made an allegation of assault.

She is understood to have met Tweed at the Embassy Club in London last night and been invited to his home.

A Met Police spokesman said: “A female in her late teens made an allegation of sexual assault this morning. The alleged incident occurred in the Redbridge area in the early hours. Two men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the inquiry. The inquiry is ongoing. Redbridge CID is dealing with the investigation.”

Tweed has come under heavy criticism since the death of Goody from cervical cancer in March. He was pictured partying at London nightclubs just weeks after her funeral.

Couple: Tweed and Jade Goody

Two weeks ago it was reported that he was threatened with eviction from the Essex house he rents after holding a series of sordid parties there.

Tweed was said to have received 100 complaints from neighbours after a series of boozy parties involving strings of glamour girls.

Last month he admitted that he had started drinking heavily to deal with the grief of Goody's death. This came a week after he admitted to a drunken one-night stand.

In May he was released from jail after serving half of a 12-week sentence for assaulting a taxi driver.
