Elton John ‘is a sinner’ for wanting to adopt child

Elton John has been branded a sinner for wanting to adopt a Ukrainian child.

The country's Orthodox Church, which is against same-sex marriages, said it would oppose all attempts to help the singer, 62, and his partner David Furnish, 46, adopt 14-month-old Lev.

No way baby: Elton John's adoption dream unlikely

Donetsk Diocese's Father Georgy Gulyaev said of gay marriages: “It is a sin, it is against nature, and it represents the dead end of human development.”

Ukraine's family minister Yuriy Pavlenko said the couple had not applied to adopt, but “if there were such a request... we would have to refuse”.

Its quite sad that views like this still exist and its only a shame that the child shall not benefit form the love and financial security that 2 loving parents would have offered

And as for being brought up Gay - my mum and dad were straight but I ain't odd I know!!

weird comment Brenda!!

Why not! Since Loony-Labour came to power it seems the in thing to have a trophy child if your a politician, so why not a homosexual singer. I wonder what will happen once the fashion changes?

The Russian Orthodox Church is right: this would be an thoroughly inappropriate adoption.

I have never heard such nonsense. Elton is a marvellously talented artist and a kind and generous human being. In my opinion he would make a very good parent. The only evil thing are the people who utter such words.

"A sinner" No! But government silence on this proposed adoption of a young boy child by an elderly gay man 'married' to another gay, is deafening in view of the hysteria generated about paedophaelia. But, I suppose, as with everything else, money talks! And, since homosexuality is now so wholly approved, it would be difficult to fault Elton John on that count now. Government, knickers in a twist again....surprised anyone?

I feel that if he Elton should look at the children in this country first. there are hundreds of children who are in need of a good family here. The child in the Ukraine has probably got family but they can not afford to look after him, with care and investment by the Ukraine goventment, his family could have him back in the family home. the child will be very lucky so be brought up by Elton and David as they have the money and the love to be able to look after him and just because he is with a gay family does nto mean he will 'become gay' like Branda has said.

I think he should be allowed to adopt, the child would be brought up with love and kindness. It wouldn't mean that the boy would be brought up to become gay.So many people that we have been hearing about lately that have abused their own children and made their poor little lives hell and got away with it because the social workers didn't seem to do their job properly. He would have a good life filled with love and kindness.
