Hugh Laurie got to grips with a live boa constrictor as he shot an advert for the new series of House.

The actor, 50, stood still as the snake wrapped itself around him after being placed over his shoulders by a handler.
“I volunteered, like an idiot,” he said. The new series starts in the US on Monday.
