Jude Law keeps mum as his ex-lover has a baby girl

The actor was giving nothing away in New York last night when he signed autographs for fans, even though his newborn daughter was only a day old.

Samantha Burke, 24, a model who became pregnant during a brief relationship with the actor last year, gave birth to a 5lb 12oz girl named Sophia in Florida. Her publicist said Ms Burke was “overwhelmed with joy” and that “baby and mum are doing wonderful”.
But Law, 36, seemed completely unaffected by the news outside the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway, where he is preparing for the title role as Hamlet in an adaptation of the Donmar Warehouse production.
The actor met Ms Burke at the 10AK nightclub in New York in December when he was filming Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr.
Law, who has three other children by ex-wife Sadie Frost — sons Rafferty, 12, Rudy, six, and daughter Iris, eight — avoided all questions about his new baby as he hurriedly jumped into his car and sped off. A friend of Ms Burke's said last night: “Besides financial support, he's not involved.”
Law's spokesman was unavailable for comment, issuing what appeared to be a final statement on the subject in July after reports about the baby first surfaced.
The statement said: “Mr Law is no longer in a relationship with the individual concerned but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child's life. This is an entirely private matter.”
But while Law avoided getting caught up in baby talk, Ms Burke is planning to do the exact opposite. She is reported to be in advanced negotiations over a magazine or newspaper deal for her story of her fling with Law and the first pictures of their baby.

She also started a blog last month for “anyone interested in the story of this ordinary' woman having a celebrity's' child”.
She wrote about the moment she discovered she was expecting Law's baby and said: “I didn't jump for joy because I hit the jackpot'. I cried my eyes out and started adjusting my future plans. Not once did I think about money.”
She added: “I can't tell you how far from a gold-digger I am. I wish there was a reporter finding out how I've never dated a rich man in my life...
I never in my life would have planned a pregnancy for money!”

You know, I don't believe her. She knew he was Jude Law, the actor when she slept with him. She also knew she wasn't on any birth control. Why didn't she tell him he had to wear a condom and that she wasn't on birth control?? She knew. It is totally about the money. Grant you he should have protected himself anyway and insisted on wearing one because of disease etc. because he did not know her. She set him up and he well, let her. So the fault lies with both of them. Hopefully he has learned a lesson.

I thought the so called relationship was a one night stand! I'm sure DNA tests will clarify if Jude is the father of the child. I suspect there is more to Miss Burke than meets the eye. Maybe Mr Law should wrap it up next time he has a liasion with a lady.
