The 77-year-old actress, who was brought on stage in a wheelchair, spoke at the Macy's Passport fashion show in Santa Monica in California. Dame Elizabeth helped establish the event, which raises money for Aids research and awareness, 27 years ago.

Jackson, far left, and Stone, left, joined representatives from Levi's, Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein, which supported the event. It has raised more than $28 million so far. Dame Elizabeth told people not to be complacent because the virus is “still very much in our consciousness”.

I agree completely with what Melissa Daniels wrote above: "This woman (Dame Elizabeth Taylor) is the epitome of courage, loyalty and strengh."

Kudos to Dame Liz for her indefatigable fight against aids despite her own declining health.

This woman is the epitome of courage, loyalty and strength.

It is so wonderful to see Latoya picking up where her brother left off in charity work. I hope people will give her a chance and support her. She is an inspiration.
