Kevin Pietersen's the new Brylcreem Boy

The 29-year-old England cricketer, the first celebrity to represent the brand in a decade, was chosen because of his “creative style” and “confident swagger”.

He follows in the footsteps of Fifties cricketer Denis Compton and David Beckham, who was dropped in 1999 for shaving his head.
Pietersen said: “I'm eager to bring my own style and personality.”

Brylcreem expect us to regard as a fashion icon a man who thought dying a blue badger streak in his hair was the height of cool sophistication ? No accounting for taste, I suppose. Personally, I would never follow the advice of someone with a compulsive tendency to mistime hooks straight to Third Man.
