Peaches Geldof is let off £120,000 hotel bill

Updated 13:56pm on 2 Oct 2009

After six months and clocking up a bill of about £120,000, Peaches Geldof has finally given up her residency at The May Fair Hotel.

Off to uni: Peaches and Pixie

But, luckily for the 20-year-old, she won't have to pay a penny.

For the socialite was an “ambassador” for the five-star hotel, paying her way by being photographed outside and mentioning the hotel in her magazine columns.

She has now finally found a place of her own — an apartment in Shoreditch she will share with her pal Fifi Brown.

Peaches stayed at the hotel in Stratton Street on-and-off for a six-month period after moving out of her father Bob's Battersea home in March.

She had a double room — which costs about £250 a night — and was occasionally offered a suite which would be up to £2,000 per night.

Add to that the countless room service orders and laundry bags dealt with and a regular punter wouldn't get much change from £120,000.

But Peaches has hit a snag with her new flat, which is in a converted Victorian school — she thinks it might be haunted by former pupils.

She posted on Twitter: “Can't believe our new flat is haunted by Victorian children. We should have known when they said it was an old school building!”

Meanwhile, Peaches caught up with her 19-year-old sister Pixie last night. They went to the Diesel: U: Music World Tour Party at Westminster University.

Busy Pixie was also spotted at the Inspiration Awards for Women at Cadogan Hall, where former EastEnders star Brooke Kinsella, 26, was honoured for her fight against knife crime following the fatal stabbing of her brother Ben in June last year.

This is why we have such a problem today with young people who have no respect - they think the worlds owes them, and they can do whatever they want.....

I am disappointed that the May Fair, which is a lovely hotel, would court this silly girl for publicity....
