Had he been around today, who knows how he would have coped singing in front of the scathing Simon Cowell.

His way: Sinatra hologram will sing for his huge fan Cowell

But there will be no chance of a fluffed performance from Frank Sinatra tomorrow.

Ol' Blue Eyes is being brought back to life as a hologram to perform at the X Factor mogul's 50th birthday bash.

A string of stars are expected among the 400 guests at the £1m party, including Sir Elton John, Kylie Minogue and Leona Lewis.

The event is taking place at Wrotham Park, near Hadley Wood in north London, the sumptuous private mansion where Ashley and Cheryl Cole were married in 2006.

Cowell's protégés Lewis and Il Divo are due to perform, and Kate Moss is said to want to sing Ella Fitzgerald's hit Summertime.

But the main attraction will be the computerised manifestation of Sinatra, who will sing My Way.

A source said: “Simon is a huge fan of Frank. It really would be the ultimate thrill for him to see his hero perform — and the hologram will be the next best thing.”

The party has been organised by Bhs mogul Sir Philip Green's wife, Tina.

Multimillionaire Cowell insists he doesn't want presents and instead wants guests to make a contribution to his two favourite charities — the Chase Children's Hospice in Guildford, and Battersea Dogs' Home.
