David Walliams and Jimmy Carr rally round to comfort Matt Lucas

The pair visited Lucas at his west London home yesterday, the day after Kevin McGee, 32, was found hanged in his Edinburgh flat. Carrying a Chinese takeaway, stand-up comic Carr, 37, looked solemn.

After several hours, Lucas's Little Britain co-star Walliams, 38, left. TV presenter Dale Winton also paid a visit as a florist delivered white lilies. McGee, who married Lucas, 35, in a civil partnership ceremony in December 2006, was found dead by police. Friends alerted them after seeing McGee's Facebook post a few hours earlier which read: “Kevin McGee thinks that death is much better than life.”
Friends today suggested a broken heart may have pushed McGee into suicide. After breaking up with Lucas in October last year, McGee found out the comedian was seeing someone else and his cocaine addiction spiralled out of control.
A pal said: “It seems he couldn't get over the fact there could be someone else in Matt's life. It's possible he felt Matt's new relationship meant there was no more hope.
