Capital FM has added another date to this year's Jingle Bell Ball after unprecedented demand for tickets.

Hosts: Capital FM's Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon

For the first time in the station's history, the charity concert will take place on two dates, with the second gig scheduled for 6 December at the O2 Arena.

Last week Capital FM announced five artists for the first night on 5 December and tickets sold out within an hour.

The station said Lady GaGa, JLS, Tinchy Stryder, Lily Allen, Noisettes, Pixie Lott, Taio Cruz, Sugababes, Chipmunk, The Saturdays and Jordin Sparks would perform on the first night.

The first five acts set to perform on the second night, a Sunday, will be announced at 8am next Monday when tickets lines will also open.

The Jingle Bell Ball, with Windows 7, will be hosted by Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon, along with the Big Top 40 hosts Rich and Kat.

The Ball is backed by the Lite and will raise money for London's needy children.

It is supporting Capital's flagship charity, Help A London Child, with a donation being made from the proceeds of the event. Capital FM's radio host Johnny Vaughan said: “Last week's reaction from our listeners was unbelievable.”.

Capital and the Lite will be giving away a number of tickets in competitions in the lead-up to the events.

I know a number of people going on Saturday and most are annoyed that it was only announced after we bought tickets that there was a seond date with different acts.
Some friend have cancelled plans in order to attend and a couple i know had to settle for really bad seats.
Great news for those who missed out....but very inconsiderate for those who got tickets....and they arent cheap!!!!
