Jarvis Cocker wants to be like common people

Updated 13:27pm on 15 Oct 2009

Jarvis Cocker was at the premiere of Fantastic Mr Fox at Leicester Square, and he shunned the VIP room at the afterparty to hang out with Common People.

Lookalikes: Jarvis and son album

The Pulp frontman, 46, voices the character Petey in the animated film. Our afterparty mole said: “The cast mingled with each other in the VIP room but that wasn't for Jarvis. He left and opted to relax in the other rooms where the ordinary people were.”

He was accompanied by his Mini Me son Albert — who let the side down a little bit by not growing a beard for the occasion.

Jarvis isn't the first and only member of Pulp to be involved with the London Film Festival. For the best part of a decade, guitarist Mark Webber has been curating the artist and and avant garde strand of the festival, Experimenta, and yet receives very little or no publicity for it outside of the industry, which I think is very unfair.
