Big concert: Lily Allen will be one of the performers

Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole and Lily Allen will join Take That for a massive concert for Children In Need, the BBC announced today.

Dame Shirley Bassey, Dizzee Rascal, Paolo Nutini, Mika, Snow Patrol, Katherine Jenkins and Muse are also in the line-up for Children In Need Rocks at London's Royal Albert Hall.

"It's fantastic to be able to kick off BBC Children In Need 2009 in such a special way," said Take That singer Gary Barlow.

"I've always wanted to do something like this and I can promise a night to remember, a night that will, I hope, play a small part in changing the lives of disadvantaged children across the UK."

Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles will host the event, with Peter Kay, Fearne Cotton, James Corden and Sir Terry Wogan also taking part.

Lewis was the subject of an alleged assault during a book signing for fans on Wednesday.

Peter Kowalczyk, 29, has been charged with punching Lewis in the head as she signed copies of her autobiography at Waterstone's in London's Piccadilly.

The concert will take place on Thursday, November 12, and will be part of a week of Children In Need-related programmes when it is broadcast on BBC1 and Radio 2.

Fans will have a chance to buy a maximum of two tickets by registering their details at www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey.

They will be allocated through a ballot which will remain open until noon on Tuesday, October 20.

Successful applicants, drawn at random, will be notified by email the following day.
Tickets for the concert are priced from £50 to £100.

The show will be broadcast on BBC1 in the weekend before the main Children In Need appeal on November 20.

Highlights will be aired on Radio 2 on Thursday, November 19 at 8pm.
