Will Smith has revealed he is a massive EastEnders fan and would love a cameo role in the soap opera.

The Hollywood hunk said he was addicted to 'Enders after seeing an omnibus edition while in the UK to promote his film Seven Pounds.

Eastenders fan: Will Smith wants a cameo

He said: “I didn't even know what it was, but I literally could not stop watching it. Before I knew it, all I had done was get room service and waste a whole afternoon watching this show.”

Smith, 41, added: “I'm a bit busy but, when things quieten down, I've love to do a cameo. I could make a big entrance in the pub, as you guys call it.”

Smith, who started his career in sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, said he loved the grittiness of EastEnders.

He said: “American soaps are all about beautiful people and being cheesy. This soap had it all!”

And he pleaded with the BBC to put the programme back on BBC America.

He said: “If the BBC boys are reading this, sort it out, man and start showing it again!”
