Cheryl Cole's new single set to smash record after 'amazing' sales
Last updated at 14:58pm on 20.10.09Pop star Cheryl Cole's first solo effort is set to become the biggest selling single of the year, the Official Charts Company said.
First day sales of Cole's first single have already surpassed last week's record-setting number one Bad Boys by Alexandra Burke.
Cole performed her new song, Fight For This Love, on Sunday night's X-Factor results show with a sexy, Cold War-themed routine.

Supporting her from the audience was husband and Chelsea defender Ashley Cole and her band mates from Girls Aloud, along with a peak TV audience of 14.8 million viewers.
However, the Geordie reality show star attracted criticism for miming some of her vocals and relying on a backing track.
Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot said: "Her first day's sales are just amazing and put her in pole position to top the Official Singles Chart on Sunday.
"She is likely to set the sales standard by which everyone will be judged for the rest of the year in the run-up to Christmas."
If Cole knocks current number one Burke off the top spot, it will disprove the old adage of the student surpassing the master.
Cole acted as Burke's mentor in the last series of The X-Factor, guiding her to victory in the talent show.

What a complete and utter insult to the music industry. If that was an ordinary unkown person on stage, would simon cowell have made the same comments ???? She sounded like nothing, just awful, yet claims the number 1 spot.
You see this is the problems with the music industry today. It no longer is a platform for real talent to showcase, but rather, an industry ful of hype and marketing. How do u think cole got to number 1 ??? Dont u think strings were pullled by cowell and or her record company. What a disgrace.

Shows like the Zero Factor are the biggest threat to music today. I feel very sorry for those who think music equals the latest gimmick or manufactured act/band. I'm grateful that I play classical flute and piano and through that, I've been introduced to a rich heritage of classical music.

What a joke! Who the hell buys this rubbish?.....Its actually quiet frightening the power of shows like X Factor. I think we all know that this song is average at best so the fact its going o bust record sales just shows are persuasive and manipulating this show is....also how gullible some members of the british public are......bit sad really.
