Now we know why Cheryl Cole's latest song went to No1

Cheryl Cole stormed to the top of the singles chart last night - and we think we've discovered the secret of her success.

No 1 girl: Cheryl Cole leaving the studio after last night's results show

She gave one very lucky autograph hunter a kiss through the gates of the studio in Wembley as she left with Dannii Minogue - who was wrapped up despite the mild weather (shawly some mistake).

Lucky fella: Cheryl Cole kisses a male fan

If Chez is that tactile with all of her fans then she's bound to be popular. Her debut solo effort, Fight For This Love, is the fastest selling single of the year so far, and there are no signs of sales dipping.

Shawl of fame: Dannii Minogue wrapped herself up outside the studio

Cheryl said: "I'm just getting over the fact I have recorded my solo record and now it's number one. I can't take this all in. It's hard for me to put into words how I feel. I have this permanent smile on my face."

Does anyone else find the timing of Cheryl's release selfish? She released her single at the same time as Alexandra Burke, stealing the spotlight (and the number 1 spot) from the person she is supposed to be mentoring/supporting in her career.

Because there are a lot of morons who like what they think they are supposed to like!

I think Cheryls song is brill. Cause she did it on her own. The reson why she did it on her own is because Girls Aloud wanted a break from it all. Go Cheryl.

if everyone has so much negativity to say, why read an article on the singer if you clearly have a problem with her being number one?.
on another note, i do believe her single went to number one with the help of publicity, but that is always the case. it deserved the number one spot in the POP charts because it is the best POP song out at the moment.

Her single FFTL was only 49p so of course it sold well.It is a truly sad day when such a talentless celebrity can be No 1.Of course they will offer Three Words at a discount it is evn worse than the single and video.

This record is at number 1 because teenagers buy the records with the most publicity. That is why the X Factor controls record sales in this world without 'Top of the Pops'. Cowell controls the charts with the 'dross' he puts out and the best music doesn't get a look in.

How ironoc that a non-singer is top of the charts. Asda are set to discount her new album ahead of its release. Seems it will be top as well despite Cheryl admitting it is a disappointing CD
