It's all too much for tired X Factor contestants

They've conquered the big band night, and they've pretended to be divas. But it looks like the demands of being a rock'n'roll star are a little bit too much for the X Factor lot.

Rocking out: Stacey Solomon manages a smile despite her grueling schedule

They looked absolutely knackered as they returned to their house in Golders Green at 1.30am today — after rehearsing their rock-themed performances for tomorrow's show.

Hard day's night: Lucie, Edward, Jamie and Lloyd look X-hausted

But the good news is that they could have gone to bed straight away, without being kept awake by the usual swarm of screaming fans. The regular chaos outside the house has prompted the council and police to close off the road to the public after complaints from neighbours — including the ambassador to China.

How it's done: Dannii still looks fresh

Fans were blocking the street, throwing litter everywhere writing graffiti on any stationary object.

London Assembly member Brian Coleman said the producers, Talkback Thames, should “end the purgatory for residents”. But, despite the furore, a spokesman for the show said they won't be moving the contestants anywhere else.

While the contestants dragged their feet to bed this morning, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue looked bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. You can't beat experience.
