Rachel Adedeji gets X Factor boot but Jedward still going strong
Last updated at 16:56pm on 02.11.09Simon Cowell's X Factor "nightmare" will continue for at least another week after twins John and Edward survived the latest public vote.

Third time unlucky: Rachel cried as she was told she received the lowest number of votes
Instead it was Rachel Adedeji who was left in tears after she got the boot in her third sing-off.
Adedeji faced Lloyd Daniels - who was suffering from a sore throat - after they received the fewest public votes.
Judges Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh backed Adedeji while Cheryl Cole voted to save Daniels, leaving Cowell with the deciding vote.
Cowell said Adedeji sang much better than Daniels but he could not ignore her lack of popularity with the public.
He used his vote to create a tie which meant the decision rested solely on viewers' votes.
Tears rolled down Adedeji's cheeks when she was told she had received the lowest number and was leaving the show.
"Thank you to everyone who has supported me," she said.
"It's been amazing and I got to meet so many lovely people and work with great judges."
She told her mentor Dannii Minogue: "You're amazing."
Minogue said: "Everyone who came on to the show who was mentoring the contestants loved Rachel.
"I don't know where it went wrong."
The decision was bad news for Cowell, who on Saturday described the prospect of the Grimes twins winning as "beyond nightmares, because a nightmare you can wake up from".
Earlier this week he said: "If they win, it will be a complete and utter disaster.
"I'd probably sulk for about six months, and I'd probably get on a very fast plane out of the country."
The pair, from Dublin, performed Queen's We Will Rock You on Saturday and were left nervously waiting to see if the flamboyant performance had impressed viewers last night, when they were the last act to be told they had gone through to next week.
Coral said if the twins won the show it will cost the bookmaker more than £1 million.
"The twins are the biggest single gamble ever seen on The X Factor," said spokesman Gary Burton.
"Just last week alone they were backed from 50-1 into 8-1 and we have massive liabilities.
"Surely the Irish luck can't last forever."
William Hill cut its odds on John and Edward winning the show to 10/1. Originally they were 150/1 outsiders.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said: "There is a real chance these boys can win this, I might even have a couple of quid myself."
Olly Murs is the current bookies' favourite, followed by Joseph McElderry and Stacey Solomon.
Last night's show saw performances by Bon Jovi and last year's runners-up JLS who sang their new single Everybody in Love.

A great year for X-factor! I'm struggling to stay awake during the show itself but the results show is hilarious! This year has nothing to do with singing ability but everything to do with spin. Mediocrity will conquer.

I agree that those twins are appalling but Rachel was average at best and her singing reminded me of the singing from the schoolgirls I am subjected to every morning on the bus. I think Ollie deserves to win - Danyl is a big baby who acted like a three year old on Saturday night in response to being in the bottom two the previous week. Stacey is ok as is Lucy but they are both a bit drama school . This show really has no outstanding performer who could be expected to do anything after the show.

Simon if it is a singing competition as he always states why send the best singer home. Why don't we just cut to the chase and make Olly winner. Cheryl's two boys have nothing to offer weak voices and zero personality. Jedwood would be good for a novelty single and that it is. Danyl is too far up his own backside for anyone to like him, the afro one is trying to be Thin Lizzy but hasn't the talent or charisma, as for the girls Stacey has a good voice but is annoying and can't move and that welsh one is bland.

Simon Cowell was to blame for this fiasco. By any standards Rachel was one of the best on the night and her last song was fantastic.
Cowell was shown up for the coward he is.

Cowell had to keeo up his side of the deal he made with Cheryl last week. He made her let Danyl's fate be decided by the phone vote because he had already been told the result, and this week Cheryl asked him to do exactly the sane for her singer - Lloyd, already knowing the phone result would send Rachel home.

Simon Cowell's vote yesterday was a real cop-out! But the throat problem was a good enough reason for going to the public vote, and the vote was in Lloyd's favour. I don't think anyone can think he should have lost out. It is amazing though that the Grimes brothers are knocking out the real talent.

Rachel Adedeji is beautiful and can sing well. She needs a good agent who can revamp her according to her personality and presence. Don't worry, Rachel. I see a bright future for you. Just remember the contestant who was kicked out of American Idol and ended up winning the Oscar!

If he followed the thoughts, ideas or views etc of the public as far as Rachel is concerned - surely he should and must follow the publics view and support regarding the two twins.

It is very sad that Rachael went so soon. I don't think she is a winner but she has a better voice than many that are still in the competition. Simon Cowel is just a boring coward and I think that people vote the twins just to spite him. The Xfactor is no more a competition for the best artist it's mostly based on popularity. I must be honest I'm not enjoying the program anymore.
Very sorry for Rachael but I am sure that she will get somewhere soon now that people have noticed her. I'm sure the public does not dislike her, they just vote for the people that they favour more. BTW I voted for her as I thought that she needed help and also she sang well.

What is the point making the bottom 2 contestants sing again when the judges are not willing to stick their neck out and vote to send someone home? Simon Cowell's vote yesterday was a real cop-out!

Ah well another good singer bites the dust , who are these people who voted her bottom of the pile, I have to say poor Lloyd , I did'nt think he would have placed 2nd last, as those twins were much worse, lets hope Lloyd's throat is better for next Saturday.
