Updated 16:30pm on 10 Nov 2009

Robbie Williams looks likely to crown his comeback with a number one album as Reality Killed The Video is on course to top the charts.

The album is outselling all comers according to midweek chart positions, having sold more than 85,000 copies during its first day.

Comeback: Reality Killed the Video Star is Robbie Williams's first studio album in over three years

If it stays the course until the weekend it will mean each of Williams's eight studio albums has been to number one and would be his ninth chart-topper in total.

The album has already topped the iTunes chart in 16 countries across Europe.

Reality ... is the singer's first new album for three years and follows the poorly received Rudebox. He releases a new single You Know Me on December 7.

This Robbie album is every bit as poor as Cheryl Cole's CD. What a shame decent albums like Dionne bromfield and Shirley Basseys CD have to look up to yjis tripe
