Katie Price revealed that her return to I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is to achieve closure on her "fairytale" romance with ex-husband Peter Andre.

New chapter: Katie Price returns to I'm A Celebrity in a bid to put the lid on her marriage to Peter Andre

The glamour girl, who found love with the singer on the show five years ago, is joining the 11 celebrities who have already set up camp in the Australian jungle.

Speaking ahead of her entrance, Price said: "I'm going back in because it's an amazing experience, I'm a working mum and I want closure on the fairytale that I had."

The model and author - aka Jordan - added: "I've got no agenda, I'm not going to act any different, I'm just going to be myself. Obviously I'm more mature, I'm wiser and I shall just be myself.

"I don't think I've got any advantage over any other person going there apart from I've experienced how hungry they really make you!"

Price said the challenges in the jungle meant viewers would see a different side of her character compared to her ITV2 fly-on-the-wall show.

"People see the real me on the reality show, to be honest, but this is a different kind of show," she said.

"This is putting you through the test of starving you, making you do challenges, you know, living in an extreme way. So it's completely different to the reality show.

"But like I say, I'll just be myself."

Her soon-to-be fellow jungle dwellers have already been getting to grips with the show's notorious tasks.

Former topless model Sam Fox and chef Gino D'Acampo, tested their nerve against crabs, an octopus, and eels to win food and beds for the celebrity camp, after first spending a night on camp beds.

But the real test was to pop water spiders in their mouths without flinching.

During last night's opening show viewers chose former How Clean Is Your House? host Kim Woodburn to tackle the first 'bushtucker trial' open to the public vote.

She has already proved to her fellow campers she is not fazed by a few unsavoury sights and smells. Woodburn volunteered to take on the unenviable role of emptying the camp toilet, telling the others: "It's just poo in a bucket."
