Moby: X Factor de-bases music and cheapens everything I care about

Moby has spoken out out about X Factor and says the show 'cheapens' everything he cares about.
“I think shows like that are awful. I have no interest in it at all. I think it de-bases music and cheapens everything that I care about,” he revealed.
But he does appreciate that some of the contestants are talented.
He said: "I think that some great talent has come from the show but the musicians who I love are the ones who write their own songs.
"If you look at someone like Joe Strummer or John Lennon, when you heard their music you knew that they wrote it and they cared about it, they're the ones who decided how they were going to sound and what they were going to look like.
"I think if it makes someone happy then God bless them but I have no interest in it.”
The musician also had a pop at Simon Cowell during his appearance on Live From Studio Five:
“He's probably a very smart business man but I don't understand when people get to be exceptionally wealthy – why do you want more? Who wakes up when they're worth £120 million and says “I'm unhappy today but if only I had an extra £2 million!”
So we can be pretty certain Moby's not signed to Simon Cowell's record label then.
Live From Studio Five, week nights at 6:30pm on FIVE.

I'm no x factor fan, but he really should play back some of his own albums before knocking anynone else. He's done the occasional good tune but some of them are just shocking.

I agree with him, but having heard him perform on Studio 5 Live last night, his vocals are as poor as Jedward and Olly's

Charles,
Really ? Please tell me that your last line was just a throwaway and that you only said it to top off your mail with a little twist.
If not, I'll be looking out for you when Jedward are doing their stadium tour in 2015 after having released their fourth album.
Will you be a fan then ?

Moby, tell us something we didn't know.
Just one thing. This comes from the man that has hocked every single note he's ever composed onto every advert going. He's not exactly creating art.
And I still rather watch Jedward than Moby.
