X Factor winner Leona Lewis sings theme to 3D epic Avatar
Updated 14:45pm on 17 Nov 2009Leona Lewis has recorded the theme for Titanic director James Cameron's eagerly anticipated new sci-fi film Avatar.
Chart-topping X Factor winner Lewis sings the track I See You during the closing credits of Cameron's upcoming movie, which is expected to set new standards in big screen special effects.
A message on 24-year-old Lewis's website confirmed: "We are proud to announce that Leona will record the signature song to the upcoming science fiction film, Avatar."
James Horner and Simon Franglen, who were behind Celine Dion's massive hit My Heart Will Go On from 1997's Titanic, have produced the new track.
The song will feature on the film's soundtrack, Avatar: Music From The Motion Picture, in December.
Avatar, which stars Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington, is about an alien race defending their land against human invasion and will also be released next month.
It was announced last week that Lewis, 24, has lent her famous voice to the soundtrack of one of the world's best-selling video game franchises.
The song My Hands, taken from the singer's second album Echo, will feature on Final Fantasy XIII, the latest chapter in the role-playing saga.

Good for Leona. I'm proud for her achievements since her x-factor days - she may not win Personality of the Year but she behaves impeccably making her an excellent role model for younger people - unlike some of the other singers out there. And at least she can actually sing. Keith, she may not be your cup of tea but clearly there are thousands of people out there that do enjoy her voice otherwise she'd be in Shane Ward/Michelle McManus land.

Are there people out there who can actually stand the constant fake, whoops and Mariah-style yodels that are so praised by her X factor judges, in whose interest it is to compliment the poor girl
