Curtains for Corrie's Tony Gordon after shock confession

Updated 09:25am on 19 Nov 2009

This is the moment Coronation Street killer Tony Gordon finds himself banged up in a police cell after sensationally confessing to murder.

Locked up: Tony Gordon in a police cell

Thursday's episode sees twisted Tony, played by Gray O'Brien, walk from the banks of the canal to the nearest police station, where he reveals he murdered Liam Connor (Rob James-Collier) and pushed Roy Cropper (David Neilson) into the canal.

Tony is quizzed by police, but things take a turn for the worse when his fiancee Maria Connor (Samia Smith) heads to the police station to confront him, armed with the knowledge he killed her husband.

The edge-of-your-seat plot is proving to be a big draw for viewers, with 11.2 million tuning in to see Tony try to drown Roy on Monday night.

But it remains to be seen if the cafe owner will survive or Tony will have to take the rap for two murders.

The scenes air on Thursday, November 19, on ITV1.
